June came and brought the first USASF Regional Convention along with some news:
- The USASF released the first version of the 2016-17 rules and began requiring membership numbers for legality rulings.
- The USASF held their first Regional Convention of the summer, but there is still time to attend 1 of the remaining 4.
- Varsity All Star announced their annual judges training would be September 16-18 in Atlanta.
- MetroUK published 21 Things Only Adult Cheerleaders Understand, which we found amusing.
- Inside Cheerleading accepted applications for their 2016 High School All American Team.
- The Commercial Appeal published Mother OK With $4,000 Annual Tab for Daughter’s Competitive Cheerleading, presumably as a follow up to In Collierville, Competitive Cheerleading Could Cost $3,850 a Year.
- Varsity hosted the first Varsity University of the summer.
- Gerald Bishop II, a coach at Midwest Magic All-Stars, was shot and killed in Columbus, OH.
- Long time Morehead State coach Myron Doan was awarded the Founders Award from the university.
