- The USASF and Inside Publications published the first-ever Season Commemorative Yearbook.
- Cheerleading uniforms breaking the school dress code was a pretty hot topic and addressed by MTV.com and WJBF, regarding a school in New Mexico and the Idaho Statesman and KUTV about a school in Idaho.
- A memorial service was held for Shaw University cheerleader Keyona Verdell, who was killed in an accident on the 10th, covered by ABC11.com and the Winston-Salem Chronicle.
- On September 11th WRIC published ‘Sparkle Effect’ Gives Students With Disabilities Chance to Cheer.
- Another hot topic was the Lumberton (TX) High School 9/11 routine, covered by E! Online, the Washington Post,
- Varsity asked us to vote for America’s Most Spirited High School and later announced Vista Murrieta (CA) High School as the winner.
- The USASF posted updated to Cheer Worlds and Dance Worlds and published Warm-Up Room Requirements.
- Cheer! Magazine announced the Pink Issue will be coming in October.
- On September 25th MassLive published Chess, Cheerleading – and Bridge – Vie for Sport Status: Viewpoint.
