Cheer Channel to Co-Produce New Show, Cheer Up

Lisa of CHEERMaD Strikes Up a Deal with Cheer Channel Productions

CheerMad Logo(December 11, 2013, AUSTIN, Texas)…Cheer Channel Inc. (CCI), #1 online entertainment network for the spirit industry, will bring in Lisa D. Welsh, creator of the #1 online blog for parents of cheerleaders, for a new show targeted to cheer parents.

The new show, Cheer Up will be the first ever webseries talk show targeting parents of cheerleaders and the only website and video blog dedicated to cheer parents. Cheer Up will be an online, live, digital broadcast hosted by Lisa Welsh. Filming will take place at many of the most prestigious cheer events across the country. Welsh will be the knowledgeable and interactive host of the web-series and will conduct interviews with cheer parents and coaches about cheer topics and concerns that affect moms and dads of cheerleaders. The Cheer Up format was created and written by Cindy Villarreal, founder and CEO of Cheer Channel Inc., a cheer mom and former cheerleader.

Cheer Up will consist of 2-3 minute weekly episodes and will run from January to May 2013. Lisa Welsh is a professional journalist and cheer mom herself. Her professional credits include The New York Times, The Boston Globe, CNN.com and MSNBC. Welsh creadted CHEERMaD as a support place for parents of cheerleaders to read and share cheer stories. CHEERMaD has been featured in Inside Cheerleader Magazine.

CCI will provide the video platform for the series and will use a new and innovative digital programming software. Cheer Up will be broadcast on the CCI website, YouTube, and other CCI social media platforms as well as on the CHEERMaD website. Cheer Up is an ad-supported original program co-produced by CCI and Lisa Welsh of CHEERMaD.
