November 1, 2010 – Minneapolis MN – Twisted Athletics from Georgia and American Cheer & Dance Academy from Maryland have joined the independents. The ability to work together as one and yet still provide unique opportunities for the clients is the strongest asset of the IEP. Being independent in today’s spirit industry allows event producers with unified goals, unique identities and equivalent voices to be heard. In one short year, the IEP organization has 23 members and continues to grow.
The top five reasons independent event producers have joined together include creating customer incentives, collective advertising, bulk purchasing power, professional collaboration and having a voice. All of these things ultimately impact the spirit industry. The IEP is regarded as an influence inline with Varsity and Jam Brands. As a group, they sponsored the USASF Regional Meetings, conducted classes and surveyed coaches determining what programs want to see happen within the industry and events. This information was shared with IEP members immediately. The IEP was awarded the 2010 SITA Collaboration 6+ Award by industry leaders. Most recently the IEP took an official stand supporting a universal scoring system and submitted a proposal to the USASF. This initiative is now in process.
The IEP is an organization of independently owned event companies whose mission is to collectively influence the cheerleading and dance industry, to promote independents and to work to ensure our long term viability in the industry.
