Cheerleaders, dance teams and pep squads have supported their schools’ athletic teams and enhanced the experience of attending high school sporting events for many years. Cheerleading and related activities are in many circles, considered sports. The time has come for all of us to recognize these student-athletes for the contributions they make to our schools and our communities.
