Event Statistics II

So far Priority Seating has published (or scheduled) summaries for 73 events, covering 3,603 teams competing in 1,374 divisions. We also recently published the Spirit Post Statistics page. Here are some of the interesting stats:

  • Average Number of Teams per Event – 49.36
  • Average Number of Divisions per Event – 18.82
  • Average Number of Teams per Division – 2.62
  • Number of Teams Competing by Level
    • Level 1 – 822
    • Level 2 – 1048
    • Level 3 – 807
    • Level 4 – 433
    • Level 4.2 – 59
    • Level 5 – 414
    • Level 6 – 10
    • Special Needs – 10
  • Number of Teams Competing by Age
    • Tiny – 143
    • Mini – 424
    • Youth – 727
    • Junior – 901
    • Senior – 1262
    • Senior Open – 91
    • International Open – 48
    • Special Needs – 10

Yes, we know there are some errors in the numbers, for example if you add the total number of teams by level you get 3603, but if you add them by age you get 3,606, but we don’t think any of the errors will prove to be statistically significant.

Events Selected

We now publish 2 events per weekday, preferably one from a non Varsity or JAM Brand at Noon, and a JAM Brand or Varsity event at 3pm. If we cannot find an event to publish following that plan we will fill that spot with another event. We pull our events from the Spirit Post Calendar which lists most IEP events, US Finals qualifiers, Varsity Family Plan events, and Worlds qualifiers. We also give preference to Worlds qualifiers over any other events, and 2 Day events over 1 Day events.
