The Cheerleading Agency and USA Sports Production Announce Champions Cup Cheer and Dance State Nationals in 2013

The Cheerleading AgencyINDIANAPOLIS, May 15, 2012- The Cheerleading Agency and USA Sports Production are proud to announce a joint effort in presenting the Champions Cup Cheer and Dance State Nationals. The event will be held in July of 2013 and is expected to be become one of the largest cheerleading and dance competition in the United States.

The Champions Cup is anticipating over 151,000 competitors from all 50 states. The competitors will be comprised of athletes from scholastic cheerleading and dance as well as all-star cheerleading and dance that represent their respective states. This event will give athletes and coaches an opportunity to work together by coming together from their respective gyms and schools. Gymnastics components that have recently been disallowed from competition will be allowed for the summer of 2013. Each state could have up to 72 plus teams all competing for bragging rights. Video submissions for teams and placement will begin in June. In addition to the competition, there will also be a two day recruiting cheer and dance combine/intensive in which The Cheerleading Agency will be awarding scholarship money to both cheer and dance athletes.

“We couldn’t be more pleased than to team up with Linda Barclay and USA Sports Production. Linda has won our vote of confidence over the years from the quality gymnastics, cheerleading and dance events she holds annually. Her experience in the gymnastics and cheerleading world only adds value to what we are bringing to the Spirit Industry.” “We wanted to create a non-political experience for this innovative cheerleading and dance event. “Patrick Cowherd, of the Cheerleading Agency. “We are bringing some USAG flavor to our sport and we are very excited about the Champions Cup.” “We went to the athletes to get input on the event and listened to their like and dislikes and feel that we are able to offer an incredible event for 2013 and going forward.” We also feel this event is the perfect offset to the other events that take place. To us it was a no brainer. Athletes can compete with us during the summer and then get back to the Varsity, Jam Brands, IEP, and other competition companies during the regular season. It is a Win- Win for everyone. All Star Gyms, Dance Studios and Schools from each state will have an opportunity to play a part in this as well.

‘To be able to offer a competition over the summer that allows athletes and coaches the unique opportunity to work together to represent their state on the competition floor will be a very rewarding experience for us” said Linda Barclay, of USA Sport Production. “The fact that it doesn’t interfere with their school or all-star team programs will be an additional bonus. By offering all levels of competition we will have something for everyone so all states can participate. Being able to produce a competition of this caliber and have all 50 states and all levels and divisions for school and all-star cheer and dance will be a challenge but a challenge we are up for. Having been the Production Director for the gymnastics competition at the 1996 Olympic Games and the Competition Director for the 2003 World Gymnastics Championships being able to host this competition will be right up there with these major events. The Champions Cup Cheer and Dance State Nationals is the perfect competition to put together the combination of our event and gymnastics experience to provide a rewarding experience for all participants.”

Team and Coach Selections will begin June 1, 2012. For further information about the Champions Cup Cheer & Dance State Nationals, please contact The Cheerleading Agency at (317) 703-7895 or info@thecheerleadingagency.com or USA Sports Production at (317) 891-8260 or info@usasportsproduction.com.
