We’ve got some quick, yet important updates to begin your all star cheer and dance November. Please take a couple of minutes to read below and stay up to date with the latest USASF member news! Best of luck to those of you competing this weekend!
Essential member profile enhancements will take place Monday morning, November 4th. These enhancements will improve your user experience in the member system, upgrade information provided on your Event Rosters and add efficiencies to information management for members. Watch for an email with details to come first thing Monday!
November is “Program Declaration Month”! Cheer gyms will declare whether they are single or multi location programs, and if they have multiple locations, they’ll also declare whether they will share athletes between locations or not. Full details will be in your email on Monday morning.
All athletes must be registered in Athlete ID prior to the first competition in which they will be competing this season. All teams must submit Official USASF Event Rosters to event producers at each event. Click here for details.
Be sure to review the guidelines for teams with Special Needs that were posted online last summer before your first competition. Click here for details.
In order for your USASF Cheer Coach Credentials to remain valid, your Career Membership must be renewed no later than October 31, annually. If you haven’t done so already, renew your USASF Career Membership as soon as you can.
5 Star Athlete Requirement for Worlds Bids
Athletes must be USASF 5 Star Athletes, aka paid USASF members, before competing for a Worlds bid. This is a change from prior years in which the athletes needed to be 5 Star Athletes prior to competing at Worlds. With the first bid events less than a month away, please make sure you are a 5 Star Athlete as soon as possible if you think you’ll be competing at Worlds 2014.
Worlds Gym Release
This is just a reminder that the first program you take the floor with past November 1st will need to release you to compete at Worlds with any other program. If you have any concerns with the program you are currently with I suggest addressing them as soon as possible. This in not a new requirement, but seems to repeatedly become a hot topic around April when an athlete that switched gyms doesn’t have a waiver and can’t compete at Worlds.
USASF Cheer & Dance Athlete Requirement for 2012-13
Easy to register online
Easy birth certificate confirmations and official team rosters for events
Required at all USASF Sanctioned Events in 2012-13
Required for the 2012-13 competition season at all USASF Sanctioned Events, Athlete ID is free and easy. It’s the simplest way to create USASF approved team rosters to submit at sanctioned events and to track team members’ Birth Certificates for age requirements.
The USASF has published information about Athlete Membership for the 2012-13 season and announced 2 tiers of Career Membership. Athletes will have the option of Free Membership or 5 Star Membership. Athletes that want to compete at Worlds will need to pay the $25 for the 5 Star membership.
Career Membership has General and Professional options. Professional Membership will require passing a background check and will be required to vote on cheer rules or serve on USASF boards and committees. For more details please click below:
