According to Gena Evans, the USASF regional meeting origianally scheduled for Charlotte, NC on June 22-23 has been cancelled.  The registration numbers weren’t enough to warrant the costs involved.

Over the past few month we’ve had many conversations about things that are wrong with our industry and how to fix them. Both, the problems and the solutions, have had many varying points of view and have led to interesting and often long conversations. We bring this up because over the summer we plan on having addressing some of the problems and solutions publicly on Spirit Post. This is where we would like some input. Please use the comments or Contact Page and let us know what you think the major concerns are for our industry. Also let us know if you would be interested in offering a solution for any of the problems listed. Over the summer we will publish multiple solutions to each problem and hopefully start shortening the list of problems in our industry.

We are playing with a new look for Spirit Post. Over the next few days or weeks you may see Spirit Post being published with different looks as we decide which one to go with. Please be patient with us as we explore our options.

Spirit Post is now on Twitter. We have also added the Spirit Post Twitter feed to the sidebar. More will be done with this at a later date. We are also testing new post notification via Twitter. If you are following Spirit Post via Twitter you should get an tweet every time a we publish an article. This feature should start with this post.

Spirit Post has activated comments on articles and removed the forum. Comments from guests and first time commenters will be held for approval to ensure comments are relevant and not spam. Please keep the comments on topic.

Registered users will not have their comments held for approval once they have their first comment approved.

The 2007-2008 competition season is now underway. Spirit Company and Spirit Post would like to wish all of the competitors a safe and successful season. See you at Worlds.

Although we have been writing for a few month already, we do not yet consider the site ready for prime time. Before we consider it ready we want a few things to occur, namely having between 10 and 12 articles published, having the forum software reach version 1.0, and customizing the forum. Until the forum tasks are accomplished we ask you use caution when using it because there is a possibility it will experience errors that will cause us to delete it and start over.

On another note, as the year progresses we may be looking for a few more authors. We only ask for a commitment of one article every other month. This include 3 articles a year in which all authors will write about the same topic. If you are opinionated and interested in expressing your views, please use the contact page to get in touch with us. You will be able to publish anonymously, but you will have to let the site administrators know who you are.

The Spirit Post is now live. We’ll be commenting on trends, likes, dislikes, teams, programs, competitions, and news from the cheerleading world. As we progress through the next year or so we will give more information about what Spirit Post is all about.
