The USASF Mini Age Challenge is designed as an initiative to guide program owners to utilize resources and tools created by the USASF to drive participation in the 5-8 year-old age group. By intentionally focusing on growing this age group, we will enhance the programs ability for long-term growth and the longevity of All Star.

The goal of the Mini Age Growth Challenge is to commit to increasing participation by 7 new athletes and converting 7 athletes to full-season team members by the end of the challenge time frame of September 8th – April 15, 2018.

To participate in the challenge, enroll by September 8th by completing the registration form. At the end of the challenge, participants will complete a Results form in order to be eligible for recognition for completing the Mini Age Growth Challenge.

USASF Cheer and Dance Rules are Posted

Dear USASF Program Owner and Coach Members:

The USASF Rules are created by committees comprised of coaches, event producers, legality officials and rules experts, and represent the most current and authoritative set of safety guidelines for the protection of All Star athletes. By choosing to be members of the USASF, event producers and programs together commit to train and compete All Star athletes utilizing these best known safety practices.

The USASF safety guidelines are created as a benefit of membership, and will now only be available for use by USASF event producer and program members.

We are Texas Strong. We are All Star.

“Something good comes out of every crisis.” – Dave Pelzer, American Author

Dear USASF Members:

As a native Texan, I could not be more proud of the response of so many of our USASF Program Owners and Coaches, from around the country, seeking ways to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. What an incredible example of unity and leadership at a time when we are all preparing for the upcoming competition season.

Our All Star friends in Houston are joining efforts to help each other out and could use our support. Please go to the Allstars United for Harvey Facebook page to see what’s needed and to offer your help.

They are organizing drop off locations in at least four areas of Houston to collect clothing, supplies and other needed items and will distribute to those in need in our All Star and extended cheer and dance families. Let’s show them our love and support!

We are Texas strong. We are All Star.

USA Cheer Announces U.S. Junior National Team

Eastside Middle School will represent the U.S. in the Inaugural International Cheer Union Junior World Championship

Memphis, Tenn., January 30, 2017 – USA Cheer, the national governing body for cheer in the U.S., has announced that Eastside Middle School from Mt. Washington, Kentucky, will represent the U.S. at the International Cheer Union (ICU) Junior World Championship in the newly developed Junior Elite division, which will take place on April 26, 2017 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida.

The ICU is the international governing body for cheer, and has members from 110 Member Nations. Their World Championship hosts athletes from around the globe. Last year’s World Championship included National Teams from 70 countries in the Elite (ages 14+) and Premier divisions (ages 15+). This year, the ICU has added Junior divisions for athletes aged 12-16.

The Eastside Middle School cheerleading team is coached by Carrie DeBold and Kristal Stillwell, who will also coach the team in preparation for the ICU World Championship. Currently, the team is focused on preparations for the National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC). Eastside Middle School took first place in 2016 in the Small Junior High division, and was the Kentucky State Middle School Champions from 2013 to 2017.

“It’s exciting that the ICU is now including junior division in the World Championship. Engaging these younger cheer athletes helps build a solid foundation for future teams,” says Tony Nash, Director of USA Cheer, and Head Coach of the US National All Girl Team. “Eastside Middle School has a track record of success in Kentucky and at the National level. Carrie and Kristal have built a talented team that supports their school and stand as an example for other communities.”

“I am very honored and humbled that my program was selected to represent the U.S. at the ICU World Championship, said Carrie. “We are excited and ready for the challenge to take cheerleading to the next level on the world stage!”
